MPD
is donating £750 to the Great Western
Community Forest (GWCF) project to pay for
tree planting. Sales Director Roger Allen
said, “As a way of thanking clients
for their support over the past year we
felt it would be a good way of helping the
environment whilst also giving our clients
the chance to be involved too.”
The trees, all native broadleaves, were
planted on Sunday 18th February as part
of the next Great Western Community Forest
family planting day held at the Science
Museum in Wroughton. The donation will also
cover the cost of maintaining the trees
so they should flourish well into the future
and will form part of a proposed 60 hectares
of new woodland for the Science Museum site.
MPD's clients were invited along to the
tree plant which was a free event and open
to all.
GWCF representative Heather Lilley said,
“We are grateful to MPD for donating
this funding. Our tree planting events have
always been well supported by enthusiastic
local volunteers so it’ll be great
to have a local company involved too. This
additional funding will ensure there are
plenty of trees for everyone to plant”.
